At CES 2023, ASUS has launched a new Xbox PC controller. It is called ROG Raikiri Pro. The gaming controller is also the first licensed Xbox to feature tri-mode connectivity. It is compatible with gaming on PC, laptop, or the next-generation Xbox console. Notably, the controller also features a built-in OLED display.
The ROG Raikiri Pro has a similar design
and button layout as the Xbox controllers. However, it features a 1.3-inch OLED
display located above the Xbox logo. The screen has a resolution of 128 x 40 pixels
and is capable of showing custom animations, battery levels, microphone status,
and more. There are also two small buttons to help players switch profiles
during games.
The setup of the ROG Raikiri Pro is the
same as the Xbox controller with coloured ABXY buttons, two sticks, and a home
button. There is also a circular D-pad, trigger locks, and intuitive rear
controls. Asus is offering extensive customization with its Armory Crate PC app
and users can use it to remap buttons, change joystick sensitivity, or make
other adjustments.
The ROG Raikiri Pro is also the
first-licensed Xbox controller with tri-mode connectivity including Bluetooth,
2.4GHz RF, and a wired USB-C. While the controller features an Xbox branding,
Asus is marketing it as a Pro PC controller. It only connects to the Xbox X/S
series consoles via USB-C cable. The ROG
Raikiri Pro also features a built-in ESS DAC for immersive in-game audio. There
is also a 3.5mm headphone jack and a mute button.
ASUS hasn’t exactly announced the pricing
and availability of the ROG Raikiri Pro. But it is expected to be available
sometime in Q1.
