The Asus Chromebox 5 is the successor of Chromebox 4, which was announced in late 2020. The latest mini ChromeOS PC from the company arrives with updated internals and a cool feature. The Chromebox 5 is powered by up to a 12th Gen Intel Core i7 processor. It houses LPDDR4x RAM and PCIe Gen 4×4 SSD.
The device comes with various connectivity
options, like WiFi 6E, 2.5Gbps Ethernet, 4 x USB Type-A ports, 1 x Thunderbolt
4 port (USB Type-C), 2 x HDMI ports, and a DisplayPort. It also has a MicroSD
card slot and can support up to four 4K displays.
Apart from the aforementioned specs, the
product now features a 15W wireless charging pad on its top. Thus, users can
conveniently charge their smartphones and other accessories by simply placing
them on Chromebox 5. The device will be available in Q1 and it will start at US$ 399.
