Nubia‘s gaming-focused sub-brand Red Magic is gearing up to launch the Red Magic 8 Pro soon. The device was earlier spotted on China’s TENAA database revealing some key specifications of the smartphone.
Now, the TENAA listing has added the
images of the Red Magic 8 Pro revealing its complete design. The images reveal
that the smartphone follows a boxy design language similar to the Galaxy S22
Ultra. The back panel appears to be transparent similar to the Nothing Phone
(1), and just like that device, the Red Magic 8 Pro only shows an outline of the
internal components. The camera module with three cameras is placed in the
center with the LED Flash placed on top.
The display appears to be surrounded by
some thin bezels on the front, as there is no visible notch cutout. The phone’s
frame is flat as well, and the volume buttons are located on the left side. A
power button on the right edge also serves as a fingerprint scanner. The TENAA
listing has previously revealed a bunch of specification details of the Red
Magic 8 Pro, so let’s recap.
Under the hood of the Red Magic 8 Pro is
the mobile Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 platform. It will have up to 16 GB of RAM and up
to 1 TB of storage, so it should be available in a variety of configurations.
Most likely, the gaming phone will use LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 4.0 storage to
provide an excellent gaming experience.
There will be two battery sizes available
for the Red Magic 8 Pro: 5,000mAh and 6,000mAh. The device will provide up to
165W of fast charging, according to the 3C listing. Android 13 OS is probably
preinstalled on it. It sports a 16-megapixel selfie camera hidden beneath the
display. A 50-megapixel + 8-megapixel + 2-megapixel triple camera set is
located on the phone’s rear panel. The phone’s dimensions and weight are 163.98
x 76.35 x 8.9mm and 228 grams, respectively.
Although the brand is yet to make any
announcements regarding the launch of this device, we expect the Red Magic 8
Pro to make its debut by the end of this month or in January 2023.
