The Xiaomi 12T series is in the news for weeks. The company is yet to officially reveal the launch date. But ahead of that, we have been learning more about these forthcoming smartphones via leaks and certifications. Amidst this, a person has managed to buy the unreleased Xiaomi 12T from a local store. A person from Peru claims that they have got hands on the yet-to-launch Xiaomi 12T. In a conversation with Xiaomiui, they disclosed that they bought the handset from a store where it was on pre-sale.
Apart from revealing certain features, the
person has also shared images of the phone. Going by the pictures, the Xiaomi
12T looks near-identical to the Redmi K50 Ultra, which is expected to release
as Xiaomi 12T Pro with a 200MP main camera. Talking about specs, the Xiaomi 12T
with model number 22071212AG is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Ultra SoC.
Despite housing a high-end chipset, the phone is limited to recording videos in
4K 30fps. We do not know if the company will add support for 4K 60fps recording
via a software update in the future.
Further, the device boots MIUI 13 based on
Android 12. It is backed by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 120W fast wired
charging. The charger is included in the retail box. On the front, the
smartphone sports a 6.67-inch centered punch-hole OLED display with a
resolution of 2712 x 1220 pixels (1.5K). Going by the screen resolution and
size, it could be the same panel used by Redmi K50 Ultra.
There’s a triple camera system on the rear
comprising a 108MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide, and a 2MP depth sensor.
For selfies and video calls, it uses a 20MP shooter. The handset arrives in 8GB
+ 128GB and 8GB + 256GB memory configurations. The person purchased the latter
variant for approximately US$ 616 in Peru. Anyway, the pricing may differ across
different markets.
