Vivo has unveiled the Vivo Y22 smartphone in Indonesia. The front side of the device features a teardrop notch display. It has an attractive rear shell, which is resistant to fingerprint marks and scratches, according to Vivo. Some of the main features of the Y22 include a 90Hz display, the Helio G85 chipset, and 50-megapixel triple rear cameras.
The Vivo Y22 measures 164.3 x 76.1 x
8.38mm and weighs around 180 grams. It has a 6.55-inch LCD panel that produces
an HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. It comes preloaded with Android 11,
which is overlaid with the FunTouchOS 12 UI. The Y22 has an 8-megapixel camera
on the front for selfies and video calls. Its back panel has a 50-megapixel
main camera, which is coupled with a 2-megapixel macro camera and an LED flash.
The device offers photography features such as night mode (front and back),
portrait mode, 50MP mode, bokeh, macro, panorama, time-lapse, and eye
autofocus.
The MediaTek Helio G85 powers the Vivo
Y22. The phone offers 4 / 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB / 128 GB of storage. The device
supports up to 2 GB of extended RAM. For more storage, the device is equipped
with a dedicated microSD card slot. The Y22 has a 5,000mAh battery with 18W
charging support. Other features include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth
5.0, GPS, a USB-C port, a 3.5mm audio jack, face unlock, a side-facing
fingerprint scanner, and an IPX4/X5 rated waterproof and dust resistant
chassis.
The Vivo Y22’s base model (4 GB RAM + 64
GB storage) costs IDR 2,399,000 (US$ 161) in Indonesia. There is no information
on the price of the 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage edition. It will be available for
purchase soon in the country in color variants like Starlit Blue, Summer Cyan,
and Metaverse Green.
