Last month, we saw the release of the Xiaomi 12 Lite Europe as the successor to last year’s Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE. And in August, the Xiaomi 12 Lite finally arrived on Asian shores, as Xiaomi announced that it has launched its gorgeous 2022 mid-range smartphone, the Xiaomi 12 Lite in 2 major countries in Southeast Asia, the Philippines and Malaysia. The Xiaomi 12 Lite will be available in Malaysia for RM 1699 for the 8GB + 128GB storage option, and RM 1899 for the 8GB + 256GB storage option. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 12 Lite will be available in the Philippines for ₱ 20999 for the 6GB + 128GB configuration, and ₱ 21999 for the 8GB + 128GB option.
Pre-orders for the Xiaomi 12 Lite for both
countries start now and are open until August 26. In conjunction with the
launch, Xiaomi has revealed several pre-order promotions that might interest
buyers to consider the Xiaomi 12 Lite in both countries. For pre-orders in
Malaysia, Xiaomi is offering an RM 100 early bird discount for all storage
variants, meaning that until August 26, buyers can get the Xiaomi 12 Lite for
as low as RM 1599 for the 8GB + 128GB variant and RM 1799 for the 8GB + 256GB variant.
For Malaysian customers who pre-order
online via the Xiaomi Official Store on Lazada and Shopee, they will receive a
new pair of Redmi Buds 3 Lite wireless earbuds along with their pre-ordered
Xiaomi 12 Lite. For customers who pre-order via official Xiaomi physical retail
stores in Malaysia, they will be eligible to receive RM 299 worth of Xiaomi
merchandise, which includes the Mi Body Composition Scale 2, Xiaomi Shoulder
Bag and Xiaomi Sports Water Bottle.
Meanwhile, in the Philippines, customers
who have pre-ordered the Xiaomi 12 Lite before August 26 will receive premium
Xiaomi gifts worth ₱ 3500 which include the Xiaomi Pinoy Bunny, Xiaomi Ceramic
Mug, Xiaomi T-shirt, Xiaomi Tyvek Bag, Xiaomi Nightlight and a Xiaomi paperback
notebook and pen. For the specs of the Xiaomi 12 Lite, it is equipped with
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 778G mid-range SoC that supports dual-band 5G. It runs on
MIUI 13 based on Android 12 out of the box, and features a 4300mAh battery with
support for 67W fast wired charging and Dolby Atmos dual speakers.
The screen on the Xiaomi 12 Lite is a
6.55-inch AMOLED with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 240Hz touch sampling rate, and
support for AdaptiveSync, Dolby Vision, and HDR10+. The triple rear camera
setup consists of a 108 MP main lens, 8 MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro lens,
whereas the front camera is a 32 MP sensor. The Xiaomi 12 Lite goes on
pre-order from today until August 26 in Malaysia and the Philippines and is
available in Lite Green, Lite Pink, and Black.
