It's only been a few months since vivo launched its first foldable smartphone, the X Fold, but the company is already preparing to release its successor, a slightly upgraded version that is rumored to be named vivo X Fold S.
This was first mentioned in the
leakerverse earlier this month, and today we get information about what
upgrades to expect compared to the non-S version that's already on sale.
Spoiler alert: none of these will blow your mind.
According to the usually reliable Digital
Chat Station, the vivo X Fold S will come with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1
chipset, a 4,700 mAh battery, and 80W wired charging support. Those are
allegedly the only differences compared to the X Fold, which has the Snapdragon
8 Gen 1, a 4,600 mAh battery, and support for 66W wired charging. Otherwise,
the new, upcoming phone should be identical to the older model.
While three spec upgrades isn't a lot,
it's not nothing. It remains to be seen how early adopters of the X Fold will
react to it being superseded after only a few months of market availability.
The X Fold S is apparently going to be announced very soon.
