The Redmi A1 smartphone has bagged the Indian BIS certification. This is a major sign that the handset is headed to India soon. It looks like the new entry-level smartphone from Redmi could go official in multiple regions. Hawk-eyed tipster Kacper Skrzypek found the device on Geekbench 5 and TUV Rheinland certification website. Moreover, he spotted the device on FCC and IMEI websites as well.
Notably, the handset carries model number
220733SL on the aforesaid certification websites. Moreover, he found the
alleged Redmi phone on the BIS certification website. The tipster claims that
it will go official with the Redmi A1 moniker. Further, it has model number
220733SPI on the BIS certification website. Now, a 91mobiles report suggests
that the Redmi A1 could launch in India with the Poco branding.
To recap, the Redmi 10 2022 was spotted on
the Xiaomi India website last month. However, it is unclear if the brand will
unveil the new Poco device along with the new version of the Redmi 10. In the
meantime, the Geekbench listing of the device has divulged some key specs.
Under the hood, it packs a quad-core processor. This chipset has four cores
clocking at 2GHz. Further, it scored 141 and 497 in the single-core and
multi-core tests.
The aforesaid scores confirm that the
Redmi A1 will be an entry-level smartphone. Xiaomi could be gearing up to
launch this budget phone in global markets including India and China. The
handset has already been certified by the TUV Rheinland, FCC, IMEI, and the
Indian BIS. So, the Redmi A1 smartphone’s launch could be right around the
corner, as per a report by Gizbot. The device appeared on Geekbench 5 with key
specs. For instance, the listing confirms the presence of a MediaTek Helio A22
chipset.
Further, the Geekbench listing shows 3GB
of RAM. The device could boot Android 12 OS. Likewise, the FCC listing suggests
that the device will be 76.56mm wide and 164.67mm in length. As per the
listing, the phone supports Bluetooth and 2.4GHz Wi-Fi connectivity. Kacper
recently spotted another Redmi device with the Note 11 SE moniker ahead of its
alleged India launch.
