Realme held an event today at which we saw a new affordable smartphone. It was accompanied by the Buds T100 - the newest audio wearables in the company portfolio. The TWS earphones bring a fancy design, ergonomic design and plenty of sound and battery life. They are also impressively affordable, making them a worthy consideration.
Realme Buds T100 have a 10 mm dynamic bass
driver that should make the sound a bit more “stable and impressive”, according
to officials. It does have a PEEK+TPU Composite Diaphragm for deeper bass, but
in order to have better music in the ears, there are three different EQ presets
in the Realme Link app - Bright for a clearer voice, Balanced, and Bass Boost+
with a stronger atmosphere.
The buds also support Gaming Mode,
activated with a long press on both buds, which lowers latency down to 88ms for
a “buttery-smooth audio gaming experience”. The connectivity is stable thanks
to Bluetooth 5.3 which comes not only with quick and stable pairing but
anti-jamming capabilities and lower power consumption.
Both buds have a designated microphone to
pick up sound, and the T100 have AI ENC Noise Cancellation. This is a feature
that learns about surrounding sound and isolates it to make the voice clearer
during phone calls. There is also a “Volume Enhancer” that increases volume
from 97 dB to 102 dB which sounds impressive but that would affect overall
audio performance.
Realme revealed each bud can last 6 hours,
with both buds and the case providing a total of 28 hours of playback. The
company did not reveal the battery capacity, but we know it is 40 mAh thanks to
company executives. The first two color options are Black (with Yellow inside)
and White. Jazz Blue and Rock Red will arrive at a later stage.
The Realme Buds T100 cost INR 1,499 (US$ 18). The first sale begins on August 24 at Realme.com, Flipkart, Amazon and
offline stores, and early birds can get a discount, lowering the price to
INR 1,299 (US$ 16).
