MSI is adding two new models with 16-inch panels to its Prestige series of thin and light business laptops. The Prestige 16 and Prestige 16 EVO (Intel EVO standard) models are both equipped with Intel’s Alder Lake-P processors and feature a stylish Urban Silver chassis with a proprietary dual-fan cooling system for whisper-quiet operation (max 35 dB).
The non-EVO variant sports a 16-inch
Mini-LED panel display panel with 2560 x 1600 resolution, 165Hz refresh, and
16:10 aspect ratio. The panel is quite bright as it comes with the DisplayHDR
1000 certification and also offers a 100% DCI-P3 color gamut. On the other
hand, the EVO model has an FHD+ resolution display that offers 100% coverage of
the sRGB color gamut. It, however, lacks HDR certification.
The graphical solution is another
difference between the two variants. The premium variant has an Nvidia RTX 3050
Ti GPU with 4 GB GDDR6 VRAM whereas the EVO model only has an integrated Iris
Xe GPU. Other than that, both the laptops offer identical i7-1280P processors,
32 GB of LPDDR5 RAM (soldered), and an NVMe PCIe 4.0 X4 M.2 SSD. The laptops
come with two Thunderbolt 4 connectors with DP and charging modes, two USB-A
3.2 Gen 2 ports, an HDMI video output, an audio combo jack, and a microSD card
reader. Other features include a white backlit keyboard, an 82 Wh battery, a
fingerprint sensor, an ambient light sensor, an FHD webcam with an IR sensor,
and a noise-canceling AI-powered mic array.
