Vivo is preparing a bunch of new smartphones for the second half of 2022. Among them, the company has a new Vivo X Fold S that is likely to bring the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC and the iQOO Neo 7. The latter will be the company’s next entry in the performance smartphone series. Now, the tipster Digital Chat Station decided to reveal some details regarding the upcoming device. Apparently, it will bring the brand new MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ SoC.
According to the blogger, the idea was to
introduce the phone with the Dimensity 9000, but the company changed to the
Dimensity 9000+. This processor is MediaTek’s response to Qualcomm’s Plus
flagship series. It brings incremental performance upgrades over the vanilla
Dimensity 9000. The tipster also reveals other details of the phone. According to
him, the device will feature a new Full HD+ resolution with a 120 Hz refresh
rate and an eye-protecting gaming filter. The device will also bring a 50 MP
IMX766 main camera, and 120 W of fast charging. Furthermore, the device will
come with an optical fingerprint scanner, linear motor, NFC, and infrared
remote control functions.
According to him, the phone will get a
late release, but will not exceed October. He previously said that the two
additional snappers will be a little worse than the iQOO Neo6. Instead of a 12
MP ultrawide shooter, the new phone will bring an 8 MP module. The 2 MP depth
sensor on the iQOO Neo 7 will remain the same as the previous model.
To recall the iQOO Neo 6 was released on
April 13 this year with a starting price of CNY 2,799. Under the hood, it
brought the vanilla Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, 6.62-inch AMOLED panel, 4,700
mAh battery with 80 W fast-charging. The iQOO Neo 7 tends to be a slight
upgrade, but we are curious about the availability. So far, it’s hard to find
any Dimensity 9000 / Dimensity 9000+ smartphone outside of China. Worth noting,
that the company is also preparing an iQOO Z6 5G smartphone and a Lite variant.
The release of these devices and the iQOO Neo 7 may coincide.
