Just a few hours after the APAC launch of the MateBook D16 and 16s, tech giant Huawei launched the said laptops to the Philippines. As a quick recap, the MateBook D16 is said to be a productivity laptop with a premium look, a 16-inch FHD screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio + 90 percent screen-to-body ratio that is great for multitaskers, and 12th Gen Intel Core processors.
What we got in PH are the 12th Gen Intel
Core i5-12450H and the Intel Core i7-12700H 14-core variants. Both i5 and i9
models will come with 16GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 512GB PCIe SSD storage. It also
has a 60WHr battery with USB-C 65W
SuperCharge, a 1080p webcam for a better video calling experience, 2x speakers,
4x microphones, and a full-sized keyboard with num keys. The HUAWEI Share tag
is still located near the Intel stickers, not under the touchpad compared with
higher-end MateBooks though.
One of the key highlights of the laptop is
it is using a WiFi 2x2 MIMO enhanced by the Metaline antenna for stronger and faster
signal reception.

Meanwhile, the MateBook 16s is the more
powerful and premium one. It features a metal-clad body in Space Grey colorway,
a 16-inch LCD screen with 2.5K 2520 x 1680 resolution, and a 12th Gen Intel chip.
By the way, the screen of this has TÃœV Rheinland Low Blue Light Certification and TÃœV Rheinland Flicker Free Certification. It's also a 3:2 aspect ratio touch screen display with ΔE＜1 color accuracy for an even better viewing and multitasking experience. The PH version comes with the 4.7GHz Intel 7 12th Gen Intel Core i7-12700H 14-core processor, 16GB RAM, and 1TB SSD storage. There is no word if the i9-12900H will be available yet.
Anyway, the laptop also has a large 84WHr
Li-Pol battery capacity with USB-C 90W SuperCharge support, a 1080p FHD AI
webcam, Fingerprint Power Button, 2x speakers, 2x microphones, full-size
backlit keyboard, WiFi 6 2x2 MIMO, Bluetooth 5.2, 1x USB-C (data/DisplayPort),
1x USB-C (Thunderbolt 4), 2x USB-A 3.2, 1x HDMI, and 1x 3.5mm headphone combo
