A few days ago, Xiaomi released a new generation of flagship models, the Xiaomi 12S series. This new flagship series from Xiaomi comes with a maximum of 120W fast charging technology. This is basically the first echelon of fast charging at present. However, Xiaomi is still developing higher-power fast charging. Less than a week after the release of the Xiaomi 12S series, the new Xiaomi 200W fast charger which far exceeds the 120W charger gets a new certification. According to @WHYLAB news, Xiaomi’s new generation of super flash charging adapter has passed 3C certification.
At present, the charging speed of the 120W
fast charger has been compressed to just above ten minutes. The Xiaomi 200W
fast charger may be able to further compress the charging time to less than ten
minutes. Of course, Xiaomi 200W fast charging has higher requirements for the
whole link such as battery capacity and chip. The company needs to specially
optimize the charger for effective charging. Maybe some trade-offs on the body,
such as a thicker body, smaller battery and so on.
It is also worth noting that Xiaomi
already has a chip that can support 200W fast charging. When the Surge P1 was
released, Xiaomi claims that it supports 200W wired charging technology and can
fully charge a 4000 mAh battery in 8 minutes. At the earliest, this charger
will come with the Xiaomi 13 or the Xiaomi MIX 5 series.
Of course, there are worries that the 200W
fast charger may cause batteries to weaken quickly. However, this will likely
not be the case because the company significantly optimize the charger. These
optimizations will make the charger more effective. Furthermore, the charger
will come with some protections which will likely protect the batteries of the
smartphone from overcharging. As of now, there is no official launch date for
this charger
