The Xiaomi 12S Ultra went official with the Xiaomi 12S, 12S Pro, and 12 Pro Dimensity edition last week. As the company confirmed at its launch, the 12S Ultra is now available for purchase in the home market.
The Xiaomi 12S Ultra has arrived in three
models: 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage, 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage, and 12 GB RAM +
512 GB storage. These variants are priced at 5,999 Yuan (US$ 894), 6,499 Yuan
(US$ 969), and 6,999 Yuan (US$ 1,045). It can be purchased in Classic Black and
Verdant Green color editions. Both devices have a leather back.
The Xiaomi 12S Ultra has a 6.73-inch
AMOLED LPTO 2.0 Quad HD+ 120Hz display. It has a 20-megapixel front-facing
camera. Its rear side features a 50-megapixel (Sony IMX989, 1-inch main sensor)
+ 48-megapixel (ultra-wide) + 48-megapixel (periscope telephoto) triple camera
unit with dual OIS. The device runs on the Android 12 OS with MIUI 13 on top.
The 12S Ultra is powered by the Snapdragon
8 Plus Gen 1 chipset, LPDDR5 RAM, and UFS 3.1 storage. It houses a 5,000mAh
battery with 67W fast charging support, 50W wireless charging support, and 10W
wireless charging support. The device offers IP68 rated dust / water
resistance. It lacks a secondary display, which was made available on last
year’s Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra. For security, it has an in-display fingerprint scanner.
As far as global availability is
concerned, Xiaomi has no plans to release the 12S Ultra in markets outside
China.
