Samsung’s upcoming watch 5 series is expected to launch next month at the company’s unpacked event. Ahead of the imminent launch, the Galaxy Watch 5, and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro has been spotted on Thailand’s NBTC website. The listing did not reveal any specifications of the wearables. However, thanks to leaks and rumours, we already know most of the details about the upcoming smartwatches.
As initially spotted by tipster Mukul
Sharma, the Galaxy Watch 5 certified by NBTC has model code SM-R915F, whereas
the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro has SM-R925F. As usual, the certification authority
doesn’t reveal any specifications of either of these smartwatches. Previous
reports have suggested that both models of the smartwatch will feature two
physical buttons. The Galaxy Watch 5 Pro is expected to have a more formal look
and will be priced higher than the vanilla Watch 5.
Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy
Watch 5 series on August 10 alongside the much-awaited foldable Galaxy Z Fold4
and Z Flip4. The smartwatches are likely to be available in Phantom Black,
Silver, Pink Gold, and Sapphire colour options. The pricing details of the
Watch 5 series have also been revealed, the series is rumoured to have a price
tag of US$ 300 for the non-LTE 40 mm Watch 5. The LTE Watch 5 Pro is said to be
available for US$ 540.
Moreover, it is reported that Samsung has
ditched the fan-favourite rotating bezel and the “Classic” model this year. The
company is said to have replaced the physical bezel with a digital one.
Further, the upcoming Galaxy watches use premium materials like sapphire glass
and titanium.
There are also rumours that the Watch 5
series may feature a temperature sensor and a higher-capacity battery. The
South-Korean tech giant is yet to confirm any details about the upcoming watch
series. We hope to see an official announcement in a few weeks.
