The AYANEO NEXT 2 is the latest gaming handheld from AYANEO. It comes with some design improvements from the AYANEO NEXT which just started shipping. The NEXT 2 will be available with Intel/ AMD processors while the AMD model will have RDNA 2-based iGPUs. The Intel-powered model will have GPU options from the Intel Arc Graphics family. The AYANEO NEXT 2 has a similar design architecture to the Steam Deck.
The NEXT 2 joins a growing list of
handhelds that have been launched by AYA NEO. These include the AYA NEO FLIP,
NEXT, and AYA NEO AIR. AYA NEO started shipping the NEXT model back in April.
The AYA NEO NEXT 2 comes with improvements from the AYA NEO NEXT. The processor
and GPU options have been reinforced and expanded. The Intel Alder Lake or AMD
Ryzen 6000 processors. AYA NEO is silent on the specific GPU options for the
Intel models.
The NEXT 2 bears a close semblance with
the Steam Deck and is larger than its predecessor. There are two touchpads,
controller buttons, and pogo pins on the device. Some teaser images also
indicate the presence of rear-facing buttons and a dial on the NEXT 2. Pricing
and availability details, as well as a release date, are lacking for the NEXT 2
currently. These details could surface in the coming days.
