The Asus Zenfone 8 was one of the only compact Android phones last year and now we’re finally getting some official details on the Zenfone 9 which leaked in a product video. The device will bring a 5.9-inch Samsung AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a punch hole cutout in the left corner.
The device will be powered by the latest
Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and is armed with a 4,300 mAh battery. The back
features a dual camera setup with the same 50MP Sony IMX766 camera sensor found
on the ROG Phone 6 series though this time around Asus is also bringing a
six-axis gimbal module for video stabilization.
The rest of the video details the
side-mounted fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers and a headphone jack up top.
We also get confirmation that the device is IP68 water and dust resistant. The
video also demoes an optional smart backpack mount that attaches the phone
securely in place with a retractable cord attached to the case. We also get to
see a Connex phone case with a built-in kickstand and card holder.
Asus has not revealed any official details
about the Zenfone 9 at this point but judging by the leaked product video, we
should be getting more info soon.
