If you want something more discrete – and more importantly something cheaper – the Huawei Band 7 offers a lot of bang for the buck. Easy when it costs just CNY 270 (US$ 40/€ 39/₹ 3,100). The band measures only 9.99 mm thick, thinner than most smart bands, and weighs 16g. Even so, it has enough juice in its battery to last 14 days of typical usage. There is an Always On function if you want at-a-glance info, but that will drain the battery faster.
The band has a 1.47” AMOLED display (194 x
368 px). For comparison, Xiaomi’s Mi Smart Band 6 has a 1.56” display (152x 486
px) and is 12.7 mm thick. Anyway, the Huawei band can be had in one of four
colorways: Black, Red, Green and Pink (with a gold bezel).
Besides the usual heart rate monitoring,
there is a blood-oxygen sensor on board, which can work overnight to detect
signs of sleep apnea. The band has a 5 ATM water resistance rating and features
96 sports modes. There are two versions of the band – the base CNY 270 model
and a slightly pricier CNY 310 option with NFC support.
