Earlier this year during CES 2022, Dell announced the XPS 13 Plus. The device will be available in multiple configurations and the company says it is now available for purchase. The XPS 13 Plus starts at US$ 1,299.
The official specs sheet released by Dell
indicates that the XPS `13 Plus comes with some decent features. It has a
13.4-inch screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio, 500 nits of peak brightness,
Intel’s 12th Gen Core i5 processor, and an 8GB/256GB RAM/SSD configuration.
This revamped version of the XPS 13 comes with a more futuristic design than
its predecessor. It incorporates the Plus Touch Bar-like row of backlit
function keys and the keyboard sits squarely on the chassis. The new trackpad
sits almost invisibly within the glass-covered wrist rest.
Haptic feedback is emulated by the
trackpad hardware instead of physically clicking in the XPS 13 Plus. The hype
about the keyboard and trackpad of the Dell XPS 13 Plus is much high, but a
full review will establish how effective the innovations are. There are no
details yet on the price of other configurations of the XPS 13 Plus. The
current model priced at US$ 1,299 is upgradable to a 1080p touchscreen or a 4K
touchscreen. A Gorilla Glass 7 3.5K OLED touchscreen is also available as an
option. The processor of the XPS 13 Plus variant can be up to the 12th Gen
Intel Core i7 with 32GB/2TB of RAM/SSD capacity. The Developer Edition of the
XPS 13 Plus will come with Ubuntu 20.04 and it costs US$ 1,249.
