An unofficial details of the vivo X Fold surfaced, now let’s have a look at two of its rigid siblings, the vivo X80 Pro and Pro+ (there should be a vanilla version as well). Both the Pro and Pro+ will have 6.78” AMOLED displays (10-bit, E5 material), according to @Shadow_Leak. However, the vivo X80 Pro+ will use a QHD+ LTPO 2 panel, while the regular Pro will offer FHD+ resolution. In both cases the maximum refresh rate will be 120 Hz, but the LTPO 2 panel will offer more intermediate steps.
The Pro+ will be powered by a Snapdragon 8
Gen 1, the vivo X80 Pro will get a Dimensity 9000 instead. There is a good
chance that we’ve already seen this phone do a round of AnTuTu and Geekbench
with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB storage. The vanilla vivo X80 is expected to get
the Dimensity 8000, by the way.
As for RAM and storage, the leakster only
lists 6/8 GB RAM and 128/256 GB storage for the Pro, which seems to contradict
the AnTuTu info. The Pro+ will be the one to also offer 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB
storage, but let’s wait for a second source to chime in. Moving on to the
cameras, both phones have the same idea – 50 MP main, an ultra wide camera and
two telephoto lenses (one 2x, one longer). They will use different hardware
configurations, however.
The main 50 MP camera on the Pro+ will
feature an ISOCELL GN1 sensor (1.2 µm pixels, 2.4 µm with binning), OIS and a
super bright f/1.3 aperture (again, wait for a second source). The Pro will get
a Sony IMX789 instead (1.12 µm pixels, 2.24 µm with binning), OIS and a more
reasonable f/1.4 aperture. Both phones are expected to feature the vivo V1
custom ISP, which made its debut with the vivo X70 Pro+. Next up, the ultra
wide camera – 48 MP IMX598 for the Pro+ (1/2”, 0.8 µm) and 12 MP IMX663 for the
Pro (1/2.93”, 1.22 µm).The telephoto cameras will be the same across the Pro
and Pro+, according to the leakster. The 12 MP IMX663 sensor will be used for
both focal lengths, one camera will offer 2x optical magnification, the other
will do 10x “hybrid zoom”. Finally, there will be a 44 MP front facing camera
on the Pro+ and a 32 MP one on the Pro. Both phones will have 4,700 mAh
batteries with 80W fast charging support. The X Fold leaks also point to 80W,
which seems to be vivo’s upcoming wired standard – the X70 series never got
above 55W.
Finally, the leakster provides price
targets – the vivo X80 Pro will start at CNY 5,700 (US$ 900/€ 830/₹ 70,000), while
the vivo X80 Pro+ will start at CNY 6,500 (US$ 1,030/€ 950/₹ 80,000). Again, some of
these specs may be inaccurate (e.g. we’ve never seen an f/1.3 lens on mobile
before), so let’s wait until more leaks corroborate them.
