A few days ago, Xiaomi had announced a new variant of its flagship smartphone, dubbed Xiaomi 12 New Year Gift Box Edition. Today, the device has now been listed on JD.com for purchase in China at a price of 3,999 yuan, which is about US$ 629. In the box, the company is including a black-colored Xiaomi 12 flagship smartphone, a special red-colored custom case with the “Year of the Tiger” theme, and a glittery Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 commemorative piece.
This is a limited edition device and the company has
confirmed that it will be selling only 200 models worldwide. The smartphone
coming in this edition packs 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
As for the smartphone, the specifications remain the same as
the standard model. It features a 6.28-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ screen
resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it is powered by the
Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, coupled with LODDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1
internal storage.
In the camera department, there’s a triple-camera setup on
the back that includes a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 primary sensor, a
13-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 5-megapixel macro sensor. On the front side,
there’s a 32-megapixel front-facing snapper.
The smartphone is running the latest MIUI 13 custom user
interface based on the Android 12 operating system. It comes powered by a
4,500mAh battery and has support for 67W fast charging as well as 50W wireless
charging.
