The Xiaomi 12 Ultra is still unannounced, and rumors and leaks keep floating online. The latest one comes from tipster Digital Chat Station, who revealed the company will stick to a 50MP sensor for the main camera, as well as a high resolution ultrawide and a telephoto shooter with some optical zoom.
In the meantime, an aluminum mold appeared
online, based on the schematics accessories manufacturers receive from Xiaomi, confirming
the camera design of a big circle on an even bigger rectangle, taking up more
than 1/3 of the back of the phone.
The Mi 11 Ultra had 50MP main, 48MP
ultrawide and 48MP 5x telephoto cameras and it appears its successor won't
increase the resolution significantly. However that's not to say it can't bring
new and improved sensors, resulting in even better image quality.
Previously, rumors pointed to a Zeiss
partnership, although there's no solid confirmation of that yet. What is far
more certain is the 12 Ultra is going to run on Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, and sport a
big AMOLED screen with 1440p resolution. There’s still no word on eventual
arrival, but a Q1 launch is in the cards, including an MWC 2022 appearance.
