The Tecno Pova Neo is an affordable smartphone that has been on sale in some West African countries since December. The device is now expanding to Asia, and today it launched in India with an updated Mediatek chipset and more memory.
Tecno switched the Helio P22 for a Helio
G25 platform and brought 6GB RAM + 128GB storage on board. The local division
will also gift a pair of earbuds for free to everyone who decides to purchase
this entry-level smartphone.
The difference between Helio P22 and Helio
G25 is minuscule - they are both made on the 12nm process technology, share the
same octa-core CPU with eight Cortex-A53 cores at 2GHz. The GPU is also the
same, but thanks to an optimized architecture, the Helio G25 is slightly better
in power efficiency. Tecno claims the RAM can be expanded from 6GB to 11GB,
thanks to its virtual feature called MemFusion. Storage-wise, there is a slot
for a micro SD card that allows for up to 512GB more room for files.
The Pova Neo is offered in India for INR 12,999.
The earbuds bundled with this phone are Tecno Hipods H2 and cost INR 1,499 if
purchased separately. The phone will start selling on January 22 at select
retail stores across India.
