Apart from its new tablets, TCL recently launched two new affordable 5G-ready smartphones at the CES 2022 event—the 30XE 5G and 30V 5G. The TCL 30XE 5G is a smaller offering featuring a Dragontrail 3 protected 6.52-inch LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate, HD+ 1600 x 720 resolution, and a v-shaped notch to house an 8MP selfie camera.
Inside, it is powered by MTK's 7nm
Dimensity 700 5G chip. It is paired with 4GB RAM, 64GB expandable storage via a
microSD card slot up to 512GB, and a 4,500mAh battery with a USB-C 2.0 9V/2A
charger included in the package. For cameras, it uses a13MP main + 2MP macro + 2MP depth + LED
flash. It also has a rear-mounted fingerprint reader, 3.5mm headphone jack
slot, dual-band-WiFi, 5G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.1, and Android 11 OS. It measures
164.08 x 74.93 x 8.5 mm and weighs 195 grams.
Next is the TCL 30V 5G. It's a slightly
bigger and better device. It uses a Gorilla Glass 3 protected 6.67-inch large
LCD panel with FHD+ resolution and a punch-hole for the 16MP selfie camera. It
has no high-refresh rate mode though.
Under the hood, it is equipped with
Qualcomm's 8nm Snapdragon 480 SoC paired with 4GB RAM, 128GB expandable storage
via microSD card slot up to 1TB, and a 4,500mAh battery with USB-C 3.0 18W fast
charging. For cameras, it has a 50MP main shooter + 5MP ultra-wide camera + 2MP
macro camera. It also has a fingerprint scanner at the back, stereo speakers,
dual-band WiFi, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.1, Android 11 OS.
There is no word about the pricing and
international availability details of the new phones yet.
