Sony today announced its range of first party console covers for the PlayStation 5. The company also announced three new colors for the DualSense controller. The console covers come in five new colors: Nova Pink, Starlight Blue, Galactic Purple, Cosmic Red, and Midnight Black. These are all standalone items that need to be purchased separately and a replacement for the default white covers, which will continue to be the only option while purchasing the console.
Replacing the covers for the PS5 is a
pretty straightforward process as they are designed to just slide off without
needing any tools. Removing the covers is also how you access the SSD slot for
expanding your storage.
To match the new covers, Sony has also
launched the DualSense controller in Nova Pink, Starlight Blue, and Galactic
Purple. These join the existing Cosmic Red and Midnight Black versions that
were launched back in May. Together with the standard white you now have six
color options to choose from.
The black and red covers will be available
in January 2022 in USA, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria,
Spain, Portugal, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, China, Taiwan, Hong
Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Korea, and the
Philippines. The pink, purple, and blue covers will be available in the first
half of 2022 in the aforementioned regions. Other regions will get them later
in the year. There's no mention yet on how much these covers will cost.
Meanwhile the new DualSense colors will be
available in January 2022.
