Earlier this year, Oppo has unveiled the Oppo F19 series in India. The company has introduced four smartphones, namely the Oppo F19, F19s, F19 Pro, and F19 Pro+ 5G. Several months have passed since then and Oppo seems to be gearing up to introduce new successors for these smartphones. According to a new report, Oppo will skip one number and will introduce the Oppo F21 series soon in India. The 91Mobiles report claims that the company will launch its next mid-range smartphone series in India in the first quarter of 2022.
Oppo will unveil the F21 series in India
in March 2022, according to a fresh report. The company has not confirmed the
launch of its mid-range series. However, 91Mobiles claims that the launch will
take place in India during the first quarter of 2022. That means anytime
between January and March 2022. Furthermore, the source shares some details on
the design elements of the devices. The F21 series will pack a “sleek and
stylish design”. This has been a recurring characteristic of the series –
offering a slim and compact design.
The Oppo F21 series is set to cost between
INR 20,000 and INR 30,000 (US$ 266 ~ US$ 399). There are two smartphones that are
currently scheduled to launch next year in India. We expect these to be the
Oppo F21 and Oppo F21 Pro. Unlike the Oppo F19 series wherein only the Pro+
variant had 5G, all the F21 series smartphones will come with 5G networks. It’s
not a surprise, as the smartphones brands will probably intensify their efforts
for 5G in the next year. Talking about chipmakers, most of them are already
leaving 4G behind.
Unfortunately, there is no word on the
expected specifications of the handsets. However, given by the “imminent
release” tagline on today’s rumors, we can expect more details to emerge soon.
As usual, we don’t expect massive performance upgrades as this clearly isn’t
the focus of the lineup. Instead, we may see great improvements in the camera
setup. The devices could feature up to a 64 MP primary camera sensor, or even
the trending 50 MP camera. The phones may also bring bigger batteries and
faster-charging technologies.
There is no word on a possible timeline
for the Oppo F21 series. But we could expect the devices to arrive in the next
month, or perhaps in January. Oppo has big plans for India in January 2022 with
the Oppo Reno7 reveal and also the launch of new TWS devices and a new
smartwatch
