Lenovo’s Legion products are well known for their gaming-focused approach. Recently, Lenovo expanded the range of its Legion Gaming series to smartphones. Now, the company is pushing it onto the tablet segment. The Chinese firm is one of the brands that have a strong portfolio of tablets, now, this portfolio is getting further diversified with a new gaming-focused tablet. The new device carries a Lenovo Legion Y700 moniker and comes with a large display with high-refresh-rate.
The Lenovo Legion Y700 was announced in
China recently and is going on sale pretty soon. The company has not yet
announced the pricing details for this device yet. In the same way, the company
didn’t disclose all the specifications but shared some of the display specs and
features coming with this gaming tablet.
The Lenovo Legion Y700 gaming tablet
flaunts an 8.8-inch display with a 2,560 x 1,600 pixels of resolution. When
held horizontally, the screen has slightly thick bezels on the sides, which
provide enough surface for players to hold that tablet while playing games.
As a gaming tablet, the Legion Y700 has a
120 Hz refresh rate support. It packs a 240 Hz touch sampling rate and a 100
percent DCI-P3 color gamut. Moving around to the back, the tablet comes with a
single rear camera sensor with an LED flash. Other features include a brushed
metal finish design. The tablet also boasts JBL-tuned speakers with Dolby Atmos
support. We suspect the tablet has Quad Speakers to ensure an immersive audio
experience.
In terms of specifications, the details
are still unknown. According to rumors, the tablet will draw its powers from
the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. This would be the first tablet to sport
Qualcomm’s new flagship platform. It boasts ARMv9 cores and is based on the 4
nm process. There is 1 x ARM Cortex-X2 core at up to 3 GHz, 3 x ARM Cortex-A710
cores clocked at up to 2.5 GHz, and 4 x ARM Cortex-A510 cores clocked at up to
1.8 GHz. The device may come in variants with 8 GB of RAM or 12 GB of RAM with
up to 256 GB of Internal Storage. The tablet may also bring physical triggers
and some kind of haptic feedback. There might be a good cooling system, and
there is plenty of space for it.
The Lenovo Legion Y700 may reach the
market in the first quarter of 2022. Given this announcement, we suspect more
details will appear very soon.
