The Moto Edge X is launching in China next month. It is likely that this phone by Motorola may debut as the world’s first phone powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. According to reliable tipsters such as Ice Universe and Digital Chat Station, Motorola is working on a smartphone with a 200-megapixel camera. At present, there is no word on the moniker of the device.
Ice Universe said Xiaomi will be launching
a 200-megapixel camera smartphone in the second of 2022 and Samsung will launch
a 200-megapixel camera phone in 2023. This indicates that Motorola’s
200-megapixel camera phone may break cover in the first half of 2022.
The upcoming Moto Edge X will also offer a
stellar photography experience. It will be the world’s first smartphone to
feature a 60-megapixel OmniVision OV60A 0.61μm camera sensor for capturing
selfies. It will also be the first phone to feature a 50-megapixel OmniVision
OV50A 1/1.55-inch camera sensor. This camera will be available on the rear
shell of the device. The Moto Edge X is expected to launch as the Motorola Edge
30 Ultra in global markets.
The TENAA listing of the phone has
revealed that its rear shell will have a 50-megapixel + 50-megapixel +
2-megapixel triple camera unit. It has a 6.67-inch OLED FHD+ 144Hz display,
Snapdragon 8 Gen1 chip, up to 16 GB of RAM, up to 512 GB of storage, and a
4,700mAh battery that supports 68W fast charging. It offers other features such
as Android 11 and an in-screen fingerprint scanner.
