JBL has announced the much-awaited JBL Flip 6 Bluetooth Speaker alongside two equally anticipated portable speakers. The original Flip Bluetooth speaker will be getting an update two years after hitting the store shelves. The Samsung-owned company announced the Flip 6 on September 2. According to JBL, this newfangled Bluetooth speaker is more durable and offers better battery life than the Flip 5.
The newly announced Bluetooth speaker comes with a new audio configuration as compared to the Flip 5. However, it sports the same tubular design as its predecessor. The JBL Flip 6 features a separate tweeter, a racetrack-shaped woofer, and dual passive radiators that facilitate deep bass, according to CNet. For connectivity, the speaker has Bluetooth 5.1. Furthermore, the Flip 6 has an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance. It is worth mentioning here that the Flip 5 is rated IPX7 and features Bluetooth v4.2.
The Flip 6 offers the same battery life as its predecessor. In other words, it offers up to 12 hours of battery life. The Flip 6 will go on sale via JBL.com starting from November. It will set you back EUR 139 (about US$ 165). Moreover, it will be available in Squad, Forest Green, Steel White, Midnight Black, Ocean Blue, Fiesta Red, River Teal, Grey Stone, and Dusty Pink color options. It will retail for US$ 129.95 in the US.
