Huawei has upgraded its Matebook D 14 and Matebook D 15 laptops once again - they received the latest AMD Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 7 platforms. Aside from the new chips, everything else remains the same on the inside and outside, including screen size, battery capacity and form factor. The D 14 and D 15 models use either the mid-range Ryzen 5 5500U or the more capable Ryzen 7 5700U SoC, in either case with built-in Radeon Vega GPU. The Ryzen 5 has six CPU cores with a max clock rate of 4.0GHz, while the Ryzen 7 has eight cores and goes up to 4.4GHz.
Huawei ships both laptops with the same 56Wh battery and 65W fast charger, despite the different sizes - D 14 comes with a 14” screen, D 15 has a 15.6” IPS LCD. Ports include one USB-C for charging, one micro HDMI, one 3.5 mm audio jack and two USB-A (one is 2.0, the other is 3.2). The front-facing camera is hidden yet again in a dedicated button on the keyboard that pops up on demand. RAM is set at 16GB RAM and the SSD capacity is 512GB.
There are two color options - Silver or Deep Space Gray, and the market launch is scheduled for June 1.
