A few days ago, Oppo launched the A74 5G in India for INR 17,990 (US$ 240/€ 200), and today, the company announced it will introduce yet another 5G smartphone in the country on April 27 - the Oppo A53s 5G. In a press note, Oppo confirmed the A53s 5G will be powered by the Dimensity 700 SoC and cost less than INR 15,000 (US$ 200/€ 165) in India. Oppo also shared an image, which reveals the smartphone will feature a side-mounted fingerprint reader and sport a triple camera setup on the back.
The A53s 5G will be sold exclusively
through Flipkart in India. The rest of its specs are currently unknown, but
we'll know all about its specs and pricing next Tuesday at noon local time once
the smartphone goes official in the country. That said, the A53s 5G could be a
rebranded A55 5G introduced in China in January. And if that's true, you can
expect the A53s 5G to come with a 6.5" HD+ LCD, Android 11-based ColorOS
11.1, up to 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, and a 5,000 mAh battery with 10W
charging.
The selfie camera should use an 8MP
sensor, while the triple camera setup will comprise a 13MP primary, 2MP depth,
and 2MP macro units.
