As you may expect, the new Ryzen Editions come with Ryzen CPUs. The Xiaoxin Air 14 Plus 2021 Ryzen Edition takes the lead with some improvements in the display which is bumped up from 1,080 pixels to a higher 2.2K resolution (2,240 x 1,400 pixels). The panel still has a 14-inch diagonal. It also adopts a slim metal body that is about 15.9mm thick and weighs about 1.41kg. The body also packs a classic space gray color scheme.
The panel has a 16:10 aspect ratio with up
to 300nits brightness and 100% coverage in the sRGB color gamut. The display
also outputs hardware-level low blue light and offers support for DC dimming
which reduces eye fatigue.
The laptop comes with an AMD Ryzen R5
5600U chipset that is paired with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of Internal Storage.
The chipset pairs with an NVIDIA GeForce MX450 GDDR6 GPU. As far as interface
is concerned, the laptop features a single USB-C port for data transmission,
external display, and PD charging. Fortunately, there is a standard HDMI
interface and a full-size SD card reader.
To keep the lights on, we have a 56.5Wh
high-capacity battery, which can play 1080P videos offline for 13.7 hours,
complete a 9.5-hour battery life benchmark test, and simulate about 10 hours of
daily office work. The laptop also ships with a 65W adapter and supports PD
fast charge. This variant retails at 4,999 Yuan (US$ 769) and will be on sale
through the company’s official website and Jingdon (JD.com).
