Notable South Korean tech firm Samsung has silently launched its Smart Monitor M5 and M7 in the Philippines. Dubbed as the "Do-it-All" displays, these are smart monitors running with their own Tizen operating system like its TV line-up. The monitors come with a pre-installed Microsoft Office 365 allowing its users to make it work as an office computer then switch to entertainment with its Smart TV functionalities and applications like Netflix, Amazon Prime, Viu, YouTube, and more.
It also supports Samsung's Bixby voice recognition, Samsung DeX, and
Apple AirPlay 2 Of course, the monitors have built-in WiFi to allow internet
access. The Smart Monitor M5 comes in two versions. There are a 27-inch edition
and a 32-inch model with FHD 1080p resolution screens. Meanwhile, The Smart Monitor M7 uses a
32-inch display with 4K UHD resolution.
There's a USB-C port for the M7 for its
65W power brick to connect to and can even work as a pass-through for data
transfers at 10 Gbps speeds. It also has USB 2.0 and Bluetooth 4.2. For audio,
both will feature built-in 2-channel 5W speakers.
The two Smart Monitor models also have Adaptive
Picture technology to optimize the image projected on the screen to be
perfectly viewable under any lighting and viewing environment. As the name
implies, the monitors will adapt the brightness and color temperature according
to the lighting condition in the room. Both also come with dedicated remote
control.
