Realme has promised a Snapdragon 888-powered flagship, and today the brand delivered - meet the Realme GT 5G. This smartphone comes with impressive hardware, fast charging and even has a 3.5mm audio jack - a real rarity in flagships these days.
The Realme GT is built around a 6.43”
Super AMOLED panel with Full HD+ resolution. The display supports 120Hz refresh
rate and 360Hz touch sampling rate with five different settings, depending on
the user's preference. The Snapdragon 888 has either 8GB or 12GB LPDDR5 RAM of
its disposal along with 128GB or 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. You get no microSD slot
for expanding that, but the card slot holds two nano-SIM cards.
The Realme GT 5G has three shooters on the
back, of which only two are really useful.You get a 64MP main camera and an 8MP
ultrawide unit alongside a 2MP macro camera. The selfie camera has 16MP
resolution and sits inside a punch hole in the upper left corner. Since the
Realme GT has a flagship-tier chipset, it has EIS and can easily record
4K/60fps videos, while slow-mo support goes back to 720p/480 fps. The battery
of the GT is 4,500 mAh with 65W fast charging over the wire, but there's no
support for wireless charging.
You get the latest Bluetooth 5.2 as well
as all support for Wi-Fi standards all the way to 6e. The Dolby Atmos-tuned
sound setup includes a bottom firing speaker and the earpiece doubling as a
second one for stereo purposes. The Realme GT runs Realme UI 2.0 based on
Android 11 and comes with the latest HyperBoost 4.0 package for allocating as
much resources as possible to gaming when you need that extra bit of
performance.
The Realme GT 5G comes in three colors -
Galactic Silver, Deep Sea Blue, and Dawn Yellow with a leather-like finish.
Only the first two options are available in the base 8GB RAM/128GB storage
configuration at the unbelievable CNY 2,799 (US$ 430/€ 360) price. All three can be
had All three with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage at CNY 3,299 (US$ 510/€ 420). The
first flash sale will take place in China and is scheduled for later today.
