India will get a new Motorola Power phone later this week – following G9 Power’s launch in December now comes the Moto E7 Power. It will land on Flipkart on February 19 (this Friday). The retailer isn’t waiting until then to reveal almost all the details about the phone, though the most important one is missing – the price.
A defining characteristic is the large
battery, 5,000 mAh in this case, a 1,000 mAh upgrade over the vanilla Moto E7.
The phone will charge over USB-C (charging speed was not mentioned, so we
assume it is nothing special). The Moto E7 Power has a 6.5” 720p+ display and
runs near stock Android with some Motorola add-ons (no mention of OS version).
The “octa-core processor” mentioned on the official landing page is part of the
aging MediaTek Helio P22 chipset we saw running Geekbench.
It’s hooked up to 4 GB of RAM (LPDDR4X)
and 64 GB of built-in storage, plus a card slot supporting microSD cards up to
1 TB. We’ve heard talk of a cheaper 2/32 GB version of the phone, but there’s
no sign of it yet. The dual camera on the back stars a 13 MP main module and a
helper – a 2 MP macro cam according to rumors (or a depth sensor, there are
conflicting reports). Anyway, also on the back is a fingerprint reader.
The landing page also mentions 2x2 MIMO
network support, which is presumably for Wi-Fi networks. Note the 3.5 mm
headphone jack on top of the phone. All that is left now is to wait – the Moto
E7 Power will launch on Flipkart in India on Friday at noon. The European price
of this phone is expected to be around € 150.
