vivo Y31s

Last week Qualcomm announced its Snapdragon 480 which is the first 400-series chipset from the maker to support 5G connectivity. Now, vivo is bringing the first smartphone on the market with the new SoC – the Y31s.

The device comes with a 6.58-inch IPS LCD with FHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The panel sports a waterdrop notch for the 8MP selfie cam. The back houses a 13MP main camera alongside a 2MP depth sensor and an LED flash.

With the Snapdragon 480 at the helm, the vivo Y31s supports both mmWave and Sub-6 GHz 5G networks. Qualcomm is boasting a two-fold increase in both CPU and GPU performance compared to the Snapdragon 460 chipset. You get 4 or 6 GB RAM and 128GB storage and a 5,000 mAh battery with 18W charging. The phone boots FunTouch OS 10.5 based on Android 11 and is offered in gray, gradient and red colors.

The 4/128GB version sells for CNY 1,498 (US$ 232) while the 6/128GB model goes for CNY 1,698 (US$ 263). Both versions are already up for sale in China.
