Sony has now announced two new wireless speakers at CES 2021 that feature this technology built-in, namely the SRS-RA5000 and SRS-RA3000. The SRS-RA5000 are wireless speakers are the more premium speaker of the two, featuring 3 upward firing speakers, 3 mid-speakers and 1 subwoofer that can play audio in 360 degrees. It is High-Resolution Audio certified, and it features support for Spotify Connect and Chromecast built-in.
The SRS-RA3000 on the other hand are
compact speakers, featuring 2 tweeter units, 1 full range and 2 passive
radiators. The speakers have support for Auto Sound Calibration, Multi room
music, an Auto volume feature, Spotify Connect and Chromecast built-in.
Both speakers feature Sony’s 360 Reality Audio
technology, which uses 3 dimensional sound location data and Sony’s Immersive
Audio Enhancement algorithm to fill the entire room with simulated audio
sources. They both also support Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant and the Google
Assistant.
Sony also announced that they are
expanding support for the 360 Reality Audio experience with partnerships with
other consumer electronics companies, and they are releasing the 360 Reality
Audio Creative Suite, which will help musicians and creators create 360 Reality
Audio content.
The Sony SRS-RA5000 will cost
approximately € 599, and the SRS-RA3000 is priced at about
€ 359 and they will be available sometime in Spring 2021.
