Samsung is preparing to launch the next-generation Galaxy S series smartphones in January. In addition to the flagship phones, the company will also launch a new tracker. The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Smart Tag tracker now has NCC certification. According to reports, a Samsung device appeared on the NCC certification website with the model number “EI-T5300”. The name of the device is “Galaxy SmartTag”.
This is consistent with Samsung’s
trademark application at the European Union Intellectual Property Office. The
trademark application shows that this device is a tracker. In addition, a
similar device has also passed Indonesia Telecom certification.
Furthermore, there are two sets of real
images of this device. Although both have a ring in the front center, only one
of them has the name “Galaxy SmartTag”. On the back, there is a Samsung brand.
Just like earlier reports, the images of the NCC listing this time also show
that the device has a hole in a corner, which may be used to connect a lanyard.
This tracker is a device that relies on
Bluetooth low energy technology. It has a battery that can locate objects, such
as keys, wallets, remote controls, earphone plugs, smartphones, etc. The
upcoming Samsung tracker is expected to have Bluetooth 5.1, UWB (Ultra Wide
Band), NFC interaction and RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) functions. As
of now, the official details of this SmartTag is not available to the public.
There are speculations that Samsung will release this device alongside the
Galaxy S21 series on January 14.
