Samsung announced the launch of two smart monitors powered by Tizen OS. These are the 32-inch UHD M7 and the 1080p M5. These two are the first batch of smart monitors in Samsung's lineup. Both come with Tizen OS that is popular in smart TVs. This allows the monitors to connect to the web via WiFi without a PC or console. It also loads popular streaming apps like Netflix and YouTube. Tizen OS also comes with support and remote access to Microsoft Office 36 cloud service, Bixby voice recognition, Samsung DeX, and Apple AirPlay 2.
The M7 model is a 32-inch 4K UHD monitor
while the M5 model comes in either 27-inch or 32-inch variants with 1080p FHD
resolution. There's a USB-C port for the M7 for its 65W power brick to connect
to and can even work as a pass-through for data transfers at 10Gbps speeds. It
also has USB 2.0 and Bluetooth 4.2. For audio, both will feature built-in
2-channel 5W speakers.
Both also have a feature called Adaptive
Picture to optimize the image projected on the screen to be perfectly viewable
under any lighting and viewing environment. As the name implies, the monitors
will adapt the brightness and color temperature according to the lighting
condition in the room. Lastly, both come with dedicated remote control.
