Last month, Huawei announced the Nova 8 SE smartphone. Speculations are rife that this month will see the arrival of other Nova 8 series smartphones. A tipster known for Huawei leaks has shared the pricing and release date of the Nova 8 and Nova 8 Plus.
According to the leakster (via), the
Huawei Nova 8 and Nova 8 Plus will break cover on Dec. 23 in China and it will
go on sale on the same date. The new leak has no information on the specs of
the Nova 8 and 8 Plus phones.
The Nova 8 SE arrived last month in
Dimensity 720 and Dimensity 800U SoC versions. It is speculated that the Nova 8
and Nova 8 Plus could also be equipped with MediaTek chipsets. It is unclear
whether Nova 8 phones will feature a Kirin SoC.
A leak from last month had revealed the
camera layout of the Nova 8. The camera housing of the Nova 8 / 8 Plus is
expected to house four cameras and an LED flash. The Nova 8 duo is expected to
sport a dual punch-hole display. The screen of the Plus variant may have curved
edges. Both phones are also expected to support high refresh rates. The leak
reveals that the Nova 8 be priced around 3,000 Yuan (US$ 459). On the other hand,
the Nova 8 Plus could be costing around 4,000 Yuan (US$ 459).
The Dimensity 720 edition of the Huawei
Nova 8 SE s priced at 2,599 Yuan (US$ 398) and its Dimensity 800U variant costs
2,699 Yuan (US$ 413). Except for differing chipsets, both variants of the Nova 8
SE have identical specs such as a 6.53-inch FHD+ OLED display, a 16-megapixel
front camera, a 64-megapixel quad-camera setup, and a 3,800mAh battery with 66W
fast charging.
