Samsung revolutionized the smartphone market with the introduction of its Galaxy A and M-series. This year, the company is giving some further steps to expand the availability of its devices. That gave birth to the Galaxy A0-series composed of super affordable devices with a competitive price tag. The company already released a bunch of smartphones under this lineup and now is gearing up for the Galaxy A02. The device appeared in multiple certifications and now has been spotted at Brazillian’s ANATEL. The listing confirms the moniker of the handset alongside some key specifications.
According to the listing, the Galaxy A02
carries an SM-A025 model number and its battery model number is HQ-50S whereas
the charger carries the model number EP-TA200B. The battery model is HQ50S and
it recently appeared on the TUV Rheinland certification database. According to
the latter, the handset has a rated battery capacity of 4,900mAh and a 5,000mAh
typical capacity. So, in the end, Samsung will market this smartphone with a
5,000mAh battery.
Interestingly enough, the charger
EP-TA200B is already listed on SGS Fimko certification. It reveals that the
Galaxy A02 will come with support for 10W or 15W charging speed. Of course,
this isn’t the fastest standard out there, however, this is a budget device. We
don’t think that this handset will come with a USB Type-C port, but hopefully,
it does. We believe that Samsung is gearing up to reveal this handset pretty
soon. After all, it passed through vital certification departments and the
support page is now live on the official website. The launch can happen anytime
between the end of this month and December.
According to reports, the Galaxy A02 will
come with a 5.7-inch LCD panel. We assume that this panel has an HD+ resolution
and 60Hz refresh rate, Samsung is not being too generous with its high refresh
rate displays. Under the hood, the phone brings the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450
SoC. This is an old chipset that was present in some budget devices since 2018.
However, it still is better than some offerings in this price level. The phone
will ship with a 5,000mAh battery and we assume that it runs Android 10-based
One UI 2.1. It probably has a 5MP selfie snapper and a 13MP dual rear camera.
It should arrive in variants with 2GB and 3GB of RAM along with up to 64GB of
expandable storage.
