The Poco M3 is now official, becoming the third member of the company's most affordable series. It immediately grabs the attention with its striking design - a mostly uninterrupted screen on the front is contrasted by a large rectangular camera island on the rear. That rest of the rear comes in a textured anti-fingerprint finish and three colors - Power Black, Cool Blue and the flashy POCO Yellow.
The Poco M3's biggest feature is its huge
6,000mAh battery. It supports 18W charging and will even charge other devices
at 18W with the correct cable. Poco is proud of its battery, calling it the
largest in the M3's class. Poco claims up to 5 days of light use, 3 days of
moderate and a day and a half of heavy use. Some will appreciate the claim of 2
and a half years of use without notable degradation, too. On the front there's
a 6.53-inch FHD+ IPS LCD with a standard 60Hz refresh rate, sitting under
Gorilla Glass 3. The screen has a waterdrop notch up top for the 8MP selfie
camera.
There's a triple camera on the rear,
highlighted by a 48MP main sensor with 0.8μm pixels (1.6μm in 12MP binned mode)
and a f/1.79 lens. The other two sensors are a 2MP f/2.4 dedicated macro and a
2MP f/2.4 depth sensor. Under the hood the Poco M3 has an 11nm Snapdragon 662
chipset with 4GB of RAM. Storage can be 64GB or 128GB. There are stereo
speakers, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and an IR blaster on the Poco M3.
The Poco M3 comes pre-loaded with Android
10 under MIUI 12 and the Poco launcher. Xiaomi will update the M3 for Android
11 in due time as well. The Poco M3 goes on sale in the US on Black Friday,
November 27. There are special discounted prices at first - US$ 129 for the 4/64GB
version and US$ 149 for the 4/128GB model, after the promotion ends, the prices
