Xiaomi Mi Watch

The Xiaomi Mi Watch is coming to Europe. This is not a Wear OS watch, instead it runs proprietary software, which helps it achieve extra-long battery life. The circular AMOLED display measures 1.39” in diameter and has 454 x 454 px resolution. It's quite bright too, peaking at 450 nits, and is protected by Gorilla Glass 3.

The watch has 117 exercise modes and (unlike the Mi Band) there is a built-in GPS receiver, so it doesn’t need to be connected to your phone when you go for a run. The time piece is also swim proof (5 ATM), so you can do a few laps in the pool with it.

The watch can track your heart rate and blood-oxygen saturation (SpO2) as well as the ambient air pressure and elevation. There’s NFC on the international model along with voice control. Battery life is stellar, similar to the Mi Bands. Officially, the 420 mAh battery will last up 16 days and it only needs 2 hours to fully charge. The watch is pretty lightweight, tipping the scales at 32 grams (not including the strap).

The Xiaomi Mi Watch will be available soon, the price target is € 100 (it will differ slightly based on local VAT). You can pick between six colors for the wrist strap and they are easy enough to change if you want variety.

Xiaomi is also bringing a powerful 65W charger based on modern GaN technology. The Mi 65W Fast Charger can power anything from a smartphone to a laptop (also, the Nintendo Switch). It has a USB-C plug and supports USB Power Delivery.

The charger will be available soon at a price of € 30.
