Renowned watch manufacturer Garmin has launched a new smartwatch under its kid-centric vívofit jr. range. The Garmin Vivofit jr.3, as it is called, is the third generation model in the Vivofit jr. series.
Although the smartwatch features a design
that resembles a smartwatch, it lacks most of the features you will find in a
regular smartwatch. However, it packs several important features that will be
useful to the kids and will assist the parents to keep track of their children.
One of the important features onboard the
smartwatch is named ICE, an acronym which stands for “in case of emergency”. It
is a widget that allows emergency contact information to be accessed promptly.
The sleek wearable also comes with timed activity modes as well as games to
keep the kids occupied. However, we don’t know if there is a sort of lock to
prevent the kids from accessing the games when they are supposed to be
studying.
Furthermore, the Vívofit jr. 3 comes with
some fitness tracking features such as daily activity tracking, sleep and steps
counter, just like most other smartwatches. The phone also gets a chores and
rewards mode, which can be monitored by parents.
The Garmin vívofit jr. 3 is available in
multiple bold colours which are stylized as Digi Camo, Lilac Floral and Blue
Stars. The smartwatch also comes with several themes such as Marvel Iron Man,
Marvel Black Panther, Disney Princess and Disney The Little Mermaid. There are
wallpapers reflecting these cartoon characters. All colour options adopt a
retail price of US$ 79.99.
