Redmi, the company backed by Xiaomi, has today launched its new Smart TV in its home market China — Redmi Smart TV A55. It is now up for pre-order and will be available for purchase from 30th September. For the pre-order phase, it is available for a discounted price of 1,777 yuan (US$ 262) but the retail price of the TV is 1,999 yuan (US$ 295).
The Redmi Smart TV A55 comes with a
55-inch display panel that supports 4K Ultra HD resolution along with HDR
technology. It comes with the next-generation Image Quality Engine that can
automatically recognize the picture type and enhance the viewing experience
using multiple algorithms.
Under the hood, the device is powered by
the MediaTek 9632 quad-core processor. The TV packs 1.5GB of RAM and come with
8GB of internal storage. There’s also Stereo Speakers that are claimed to offer
more immersive sound, along with DTS decoding support.
It is running the MIUI operating system
based on Android which can also be used to control smart home devices through
voice commands. The company has also introduced a new Minimalist Mode so that
elders can easily navigate through the interface.
The Redmi brand has previously launched a
few Smart TV models, the latest being Redmi Smart TV X series that includes
Redmi Smart TV X50, Redmi Smart TV X55, and Redmi Smart TV X65 with a
bezel-less design and impressive set of features.
