Back in December 2015, vivo unveiled the
Y51 with Snapdragon 410 SoC, 5" display, 8MP primary camera, and a 2,350
mAh battery. Today, vivo announced the new Y51, which is powered by the
Snapdragon 665 SoC, runs Android 10-based Funtouch OS 10 and has 4GB RAM and
128GB expandable storage onboard.
The new vivo Y51 is built around a
6.38" FullHD+ Ace AMOLED display that has a fingerprint reader underneath
and a notch up top for the 16MP selfie camera. Around the back, you have a
diamond-shaped plate housing four cameras - 48MP primary, 8MP ultrawide, 2MP
macro, and 2MP depth sensor. These are joined by an LED flash, and further
below is a text that reads "Camera & Music".
Fueling the entire package is a 4,500 mAh
battery that draws power through a USB-C port at up to 18W. All this might
sound familiar to you because the new vivo Y51 isn't an entirely new
smartphone. It's a rebranded X50 Lite announced a few months ago, or you can
also call it a rebadged S1 Pro with a 16MP selfie camera since the colorways of
both smartphones are identical.
The new vivo Y51 comes in Mystic Black,
Jazzy Blue, and Dreamy White colors. It's priced at PKR 36,999 (US$ 220/€ 190) and
is up for pre-orders in Pakistan till September 18, with sales kicking off from
September 19.
