Microsoft Surface Duo

The future of smartphones or a misguided one-off? If you think the Microsoft Surface Duo is the former now you have a chance to buy one – assuming you’re in the US. You can find it at the official Microsoft store but you better prepare a thick bundle of cash before you head there – the base version (with 128 GB storage) costs US$ 1,400 which goes up to US$ 1,500 if you want more storage (256 GB). There’s no card slot so you can’t change your mind about how much memory you need later.
You can get a 1-year subscription to Microsoft 365 Family or Personal for half price, US$ 50 or US$ 35, respectively. You may also want to think about a protection plan - $200 buys you coverage on mechanical breakdown and accidental damage, plus unlimited technical support.

Then come the accessories. A Surface Slim Pen could enhance your note-taking for US$ 111. The regular Surface Pen is cheaper at just over US$ 70, though it’s not as easy to stick in your pocket. If you don’t get the protection plan, you should have a look at the bumper case (US$ 40) and the InvisibleShield glass protector (US$ 60).
