During NVIDIA’s announcement of their
GeForce RTX 30 series GPUs, they showcased LG’s new 2020 lineup of 8K OLED TVs
that will support HDMI Display Stream Compression (DSC). The TVs are powered by
LG’s α (Alpha) 9 Gen 3 AI processor, and it will support many gaming focused
features like VRR and ALLM.
The α 9 Gen 3 AI processor will enable an
8K experience with full bandwidth support. The TV incorporates many of HDMI’s
new technology like DSC, VRR (Variable refresh rate) and ALLM (Auto Low Latency
Mode). Along with this, the TVs are also NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible, making the
TV great for gaming for users who own RTX 30 series, RTX 20 Series and GTX 16 Series GPUs.
Other technologies featured with these TVs
include support for Dolby Atmos, LG’s deep learning-based AI Acoustic Tuning,
BT Surround ready and it has LG ThinQ capabilities built-in.
