Honor MagicBook 14 and 15

The MagicBook 14 and 15 are two light laptops powered by the AMD Ryzen 5 4500U. The 15W APU features a 6 core, 6 thread CPU (2.3 GHz base, 4.0 GHz boost) and a 6 core GPU (1.5 GHz). In both cases you get a choice between 8GB and 16GB DDDR4 RAM (dual channel) and 256GB and 512GB NVMe SSD. These models replace the Ryzen 3000-based laptops from last year.

The MagicBook 15 has a 15.6” display (87% StB ratio) while its smaller sibling is equipped with a 14” display (84% StB). Both panels have 1080p resolution. The main body of the laptops is made of aluminum while the display bezel is mylar. The larger laptop weighs 1.53 kg (3.37 lbs), the other tips the scales at 1.38 kg. The odd battery situation from the predecessors is carried over to these models too – the 14” laptop has a larger 56Wh battery while the 15.6” laptop only gets a 42Wh power cell.

Charging is done via USB-C using a 65W adapter, which achieves 50% charge in about half an hour. Besides the USB-C port, there’s also one USB-A 3.0 and one USB-A 2.0, plus an HDMI port and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.

The new MagicBook 14 will be available in the UK, France and Germany from September 21. A unit specced with 8 GB of RAM and a 512 GB SSD will cost you € 750. The launch promo for this model is one free accessory - you can pick a mouse, Honor Router 3, Honor Bluetooth Earphones or an Honor backpack.

If you prefer a slightly larger laptop, the MagicBook 15 will be out in early October and will cost a bit less - € 700 for the same 8/512 GB memory configuration. The old MagicBook 14 proved quite popular, by the way. It was one of the Top 3 best-selling laptops on Amazon DE, it was Top 5 on Boulanger in France and Top 10 on Amazon UK.
