Xiaomi seems to be gearing up to launch a
new smartphone under its Mi lineup as the brand’s upcoming smartphone has been
spotted on a subway in China. The leaked image on Weibo shows someone using the
device, which is covered with a protective cover.
While the name of the smartphone in
question is not yet known, the leaked images have revealed some of the key
features of the device. It shows that the phone will come with a punch-hole
cutout on the top of the display for the front-facing camera.
It is also visible that the smartphone
will have a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for added security. This indicates
that the phone could be a mid-range offering given that most mid-range phones
now have a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and it could come with an LCD
display instead of OLED.
The fingerprint sensor is embedded in the
power button itself, which is placed on the right side of the phone, along with
the volume rocker keys. Apart from this, nothing much is known about this
upcoming offering from Xiaomi.
It is being speculated that the smartphone
could be a part of the Xiaomi CC series or the upcoming Redmi Note 10. However,
these are just speculations and we will have to wait for some more time to get
more details about this.
